这可能源于普通话是一种象征性的语言，而不是按字母顺序排列。因此，作者会发现写一个表达思想的符号而不是表达单词更容易。当方程代替英语的方式代替单词时，这个问题就更严重了。请考虑下面的例子。
‘such as’ and ‘etc.’
Such as 和 etc.经常被中式英语误用。Such as意思是‘for example’ 这意味着接下来将会有一个不完整的列表；etc. 意思是‘and so on’在列表的末尾用来显示它不完整。因此一起用二者是冗余的。

Compared to traditional industry, Micro-electronic fabrication has three characteristics: high complexity, high precision and high automation.
第二部分
1. 有些单词具有相同的单数和复数形式，不需要加上s就可以成为复数。这些词包括：
• literature (when referring to research)
• equipment,
• staff (referring to a group of people)
• faculty
2.避免出现中式英语经常使用的以下短语类型的冗余
3.某些词要求他们修饰的名词是复数的。这些词包括 different, various, and number words.
4. Do not write ‘by this way’. Instead write ‘by doing this’, or ‘using this method’.
5.Do write ‘the results are shown in Figure 2’. Do not write ‘the results are showed as
Figure 2’.
6.Italicize variables appearing in the text to differentiate them from words. This is
especially important when the variables are English alphabets. Write ‘The graph shows t ,
a , and C as a function of time’. Do not write ‘The graph shows t, a, and C as a function of
time’.
7.Avoid overusing the phrases ‘that is to say’ and ‘namely’. Instead, try to convey your
meaning in one sentence.
8.Do not use ‘too’ at the end of a written sentence, especially in a technical paper.
